Upon reflection
When Ehpem and I were wandering around making photos, we turned down a brick alley. (We’d just been told it was haunted, so of course we had to go!).
There weren’t any ghosts, as far as we could tell, but there was a dramatic set of reflections in the windows above us.

PS: Want to know something sort of funny? Just yesterday, Ehpem posted a shot made within steps of this one, and wrote about looking up. Great minds think alike. And so do ours.
Getting some sun
I did see things other than storm drains and driftwood on my visit to Victoria, although you’d not know it from reading this blog. Ehpem, an excellent guide, took me to a part of town where we got to see some architecture, an excellent old car, graffiti, and a group of folks (and some flowers) taking in the afternoon sun.
(By the way, this shot was taken only a half-block from where Ehpem captured this scene, which I completely missed because I was looking at a poster on a utility pole.)

To feel small in the landscape
With all this recent Pacific Northwest stuff, did you forget that I was in New Mexico earlier this summer?
This wild and lyrical place is near Abiquiu; my class at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops visited there; our visit was cut short by a lightning-filled storm, which could also probably be described as wild and lyrical.
If you want to feel small in the landscape, this would be the place to go.

Also, for anyone keeping score, today’s post marks number 1,000 here on One Day | One Image.
Beach stairs
Another shot at the pebble beach near Ehpem’s house.
It really did remind me of West Texas. Ha! Ha! Of course not! It was the opposite of West Texas.

Condiments
In my early-morning wanderings at Pike Place Market, I spotted the tables at this restaurant all ready for the day’s customers. Every table was arranged exactly the same way – it was sort of a meditation.
