Duplex
The road snakes its way back toward Santa Rosa, behind this adobe building, which I have taken the liberty of calling a duplex.
If you would rather go to Fort Sumner and it hasn’t rained in a while and you’re feeling brave, you can take County Road 2P. It’s neither paved nor fenced, giving the occasional traveler a very close look at cows.

Beware of free-ranging cattle!

We did see quite a few of them. The condition of the road – unpaved and bumpy with a lot of curves – meant that neither travelers nor cattle were in danger of high-speed collisions.

Superb light in this one.

Thanks, Vera. As you know, the light in New Mexico is often superb!

County Road 2P sounds like fun!

It was fun – but could be treacherous if it had rained recently. Fortunately, I guess, that’s rarely a problem.

Don’t know which I like better, the roof or wall patterns. What a nice building! The windy road sign is very well placed too – you didn’t move it did you?

Maybe I moved the BUILDING and left the sign where it was?

Well, now that you mention it, that makes a certain amount of sense. It probably is easier to move a building on private land than a sign on a public right of way.

And, of course, adobe’s not all that heavy anyway.
