Sea-placed Rocks
On my recent trip with Ehpem, we stopped by Botanical Beach, where I spotted these rocks, the smaller ones forced by the sea’s power into the crevice in the larger stone. Eventually, of course, all of them will be ground into sand.

It is a constant battle at that beach. Some of the bedrock is softer than the pebbles and boulders that end up on it and those can slowly work a hole in the bedrock that becomes a wonderful tidepool.

Those tidepools were almost my favorite part of the beach! I was glad you’d told me about them, as I wouldn’t have appreciated what I was seeing.
