Blocking the Day

The morning sun is barely contained by the drapes.
(You know those days when everything seems like it’s a photo? Those are great, right? This was one of those days – even something mundane like this was crying out to be photographed. It helps make up for the more-common thing when carrying around a camera seems like a waste of energy.)

I was visiting my father-in-law in the hospital when I made this shot. He (and this is not the first time it’s happened) looked at me like I was nuts when I pulled out my camera.
