Blocking the Day

The morning sun is barely contained by the drapes.
(You know those days when everything seems like it’s a photo? Those are great, right? This was one of those days – even something mundane like this was crying out to be photographed. It helps make up for the more-common thing when carrying around a camera seems like a waste of energy.)

Aground

So many things here that I can’t explain.
- This boat is part of a land-based flotilla.
- The flotilla is moored on some vacant land between a church and a cotton gin.
- A cotton gin in the middle of a town isn’t especially normal.
- No boat trailers? How’d they get here?
- Why?
And there’s at least one thing the people in the house across the street can’t explain.
- Why is that crazy woman over there taking pictures of the boats?

Trash talker

Yep, I went to a parking garage to see what I could see. And I saw a trash can and a sign pointing toward the emergency phone.
Also, some nicely-textured concrete, the light bouncing around the roof joists, and a dusty sky.

Table in the bar, with candle

On Wednesdays my friends and I meet for drinks after work. We usually get the big sofa in the corner, but on this particular Wednesday, it was occupied by someone else.
That wasn’t as bad as I thought: it gave me a not-noticed-before view of this little table.

PS – OF COURSE you’re invited to join us. Maybe today we can reclaim the sofa.
