Nope

041116

This is a photography blog, not a political one – I feel it’s important to start there.

The other day, I was talking with my granddaughter, the fabulous Hannah. I said (I was joking, of course), “…and, as you know, I am in fact a genius.” The fabulous Hannah relied, without missing a beat, “OK. Let’s just pretend that’s true.”

The other Saturday morning, I saw the NOPE art in a studio window. And I made the image, and am posting it here, just because of the artistic merits of what I saw and captured.

Let’s just pretend that’s true.

Blocking the Day

041016

The morning sun is barely contained by the drapes.

(You know those days when everything seems like it’s a photo? Those are great, right? This was one of those days – even something mundane like this was crying out to be photographed. It helps make up for the more-common thing when carrying around a camera seems like a waste of energy.)

Trash talker

Yep, I went to a parking garage to see what I could see. And I saw a trash can and a sign pointing toward the emergency phone.

Also, some nicely-textured concrete, the light bouncing around the roof joists, and a dusty sky.

Table in the bar, with candle

untitled-1001991

On Wednesdays my friends and I meet for drinks after work. We usually get the big sofa in the corner, but on this particular Wednesday, it was occupied by someone else.

That wasn’t as bad as I thought: it gave me a not-noticed-before view of this little table.

PS – OF COURSE you’re invited to join us. Maybe today we can reclaim the sofa.

Downspout

Across town, in a new commercial development, I found a nice set of rectangles.

Have I mentioned lately that I am indeed fond of a good rectangle?
