On the subject of waiting

122616

I almost never arrange a shot. My subjects usually just show up in front of me/the camera.

This is a rare exception, from last summer’s photography class. I am pretty sure I was going for something profound, and am just as sure that I failed to achieve it. But, still, it shows what kind of lighting you can achieve with a iPhone, placed strategically in a dark closet.

A spartan room and a nearly-bare closet. Oh, and also: insomnia.

Fast Pancake

This was the 41st year of the Pancakes on the Plaza in Santa Fe; I am not sure how many pancakes were served that day, but “a whole lot” seems to be a modest estimate.

You know how I like to go around back to see what I can photograph? Turns out, a pancake breakfast offers some good “around back” opportunities. Like this speedy pancake cook and her assistant.

in the room of sorrows

A room in what used to be a Carmelite monastary.

Lately I’ve been shooting a lot of unmade beds; I am not entirely sure what that means or where it’s going, but the Muse hasn’t lead me (very far) astray yet, so I’ll continue to follow her.

Another image from the model shoot I did in Keith Carter’s class. This one looks like the last page of a novel.
