Maybe an altar
It’s been a while since any roofing business was conducted here, at the Adolph Roofing Company, on the corner of 8th Street and Texas Avenue. One of the big windows on the front is boarded up. The vinyl blinds on the other one are in a yellowed heap on one side. There’s still a mailbox, though, but it’s thick with accumulated dirt and pigeon droppings.
Inside the building – this scene, which for some reason makes me think of the church in Terlingua.
Maybe it’s the table along the far wall, giving the effect of an altar? Or the bright, beckoning light coming from those windows? Or maybe it’s just me. (You’re right: it’s just me. Forget I brought it up.)

I like to think that it would be nice to have a window by your worktable, like this one. Nicely shot since I imagine the light was all coming from those windows.

You are right – the windows did provide the only light source.
And I concur about having a window by a worktable; I don’t have a window office, and it’s disconcerting to never know quite what is going on with the weather. Maybe I could just start using this place, instead…..

I like this one – I think the similarity with the church shot might be the light on the ceiling. It makes it look a bit like here are a lot of holes in the roof, which would be pretty bad advertising for a roofing company, and perhaps is why they went out of business (or moved, if they are still at work).

Yes, I think you are right. Both of the ceilings are reflecting the light in a nice way.
I don’t think the Adolph Roofing Company would be well-served to use this in their advertising efforts. Unless they used it as a “before” shot….

Great light, composition and texture, pal. This one really sings. Oh, and thanks for the Tech show invite! I showed it to my art colleagues to tout your talents–nice work!
