7Up
This is sort of a companion to an earlier post, from another town, called “Business Route” is optimistic. In this case, the “business route” is Interstate 20J Business.
Not much going on here. But I do like the 7Up sign on the wall.

Wikipedia calls these “Ghost Signs” and has an interesting write-up. I love these old, fading signs myself and I appreciate seeing others taking an interest in them, too.

I love to find these ghost signs (a new term for me – thanks!) – I am always on the lookout for them.

I love the ghost signs too. I should take more pictures of them as there are quite a few in the old town here. I like how you squeezed this building into the frame; looks like the foreground was dictating quite a bit of composition and the roof line just made it in…

Yes, the roof line barely did make the composition! There was a great view (I thought) of the front elevation of the building; the back wall is gone, and the courthouse was clearly visible through the gaping hole. For some reason, though, it looked terrible as a photograph; I think there was just too much going on. Also, I would have had to stand in the middle of the road to get the shot I wanted, and there was too much traffic to make that a good idea…

You need assistants in orange reflective vests with hardhats and stop/yield signs and State emblems to look official. Then pavement foregrounds would be yours at will.

At my old job, I had my own safety vest (don’t be jealous); I guess I should have hung onto it. If I’d only known…

Maybe you and Ken and I need to start a Ghost Sign blog….

It could be like that Doors blog, whatever it is called, where lots of people post door pictures.

Yes – like that one, The Legion of Door Whores. Should we put Ken in charge of getting it going?

Definitely. He seems an enterprising guy. And he’s from NY.
