A few more rectangles
Here’s one for my friend Ehpem, who noticed my tendency to shoot rectangles even before I’d figured it out. I guess you can tell which one of us was paying attention. (Hint: it wasn’t me.)

My apologies for pointing it out. If would not want self-consciousness to get in the way of creativity as your rectilinear shots are wonderful.
This freshly(?) pointed wall sure brings the bricks out wonderfully. I like the suggestion of a chimney on the left edge

Please don’t apologize: I tend to get caught up in things and don’t step back to see the big picture (so to speak). I guess it’s the forest/trees deal. But anyway, it hasn’t made me self-conscious, just more aware.
Here’s another shot of the same wall of the same building: http://bit.ly/16GMozX. It’s an abandoned power plant on the edge of downtown.e

That is a very different shot. The barbed wire adds a message that the sign alone in this picture does not convey very clearly.

Yet with barbed wire and no trespassing signs, still I took pictures. I am pretty sure the wire and signs meant people WITHOUT cameras.

I noticed some semicircles as well. And I love the black sky.

I know; they were very sneaky and I didn’t notice them until it was too late.

I love geometry and this has plenty of it! Powerful composition. I tend to dislike converging verticals as a rule, but these ones suit this shot and add to the drama. Nice find, well worked, Melinda.

Thanks, Andy. I know what you mean about converging verticals – usually they just make me dizzy, but every now and then, for some reason, they are just what the shot WANTS to be.
