Mostly sky

There’s no need to add any deep theological meaning to the large amount of sky above the Living Word sign.

I mean, if you want to, I certainly won’t stop you. My point was that I didn’t do that when I took the shot; I just liked the way it looked.

  1. The sky provides the negative space that makes this very interesting. Unless you were intending to make a statement about a void in the “Living Word”. Maybe not but it’s still a powerful photo.

    • Thanks, Ken. I really did take this because of the way the sky looked above the wall. I am pretty sure I’d have taken the shot no matter what the sign said although “Living Word” seems somehow stronger than if it had said “Antiques”…..

  2. It would have looked pretty good with no sign in that specially prepared space. Funny that it is only half the sign anticipated when the building was made – maybe dead words take up more room?

    • The sign is relatively new (it’s not on Google street view); and it’s one of those heavy vinyl banners. I imagine that Pastor Jones just ordered up a standard size from the local Fast Signs.

Although I like thinking about dead words taking up more room…

  5. Good contraposition of the hopeful words against that blackest of skies… !
