It all blends together, eventually
This was a nice find as we drove through Seymour. At least I thought so; the nearby dog took exception to my being there and barked non-stop.
This is the back wall of a long-abandoned gas station, the old-time kind with a service bay. What caught my eye here was the way that all the different things – stucco wall, electric meter, weeds – have started to take on the same sort of texture, blending their colors together in a shade we could call Decline.

The textures have a real beauty to them – and it’s acting like some kind of camouflage.

I am glad it was winter when I shot this – I don’t think it would have been as interesting if the weeds and the tree of the far side of the building had been leafy.

If only you can get this paint effect out of the can. It’s so pretty. Why do I find pealing paint so interesting?

If you like peeling paint, you’ve love this place. Inside and out – peeling paint. Just don’t eat any of it – pretty sure it’s lead based.

I gave up eating paint for Lent years ago and never went back.

The term “paint chips” is very misleading….

I see how you lead Ken into that.
I like the patch of light coming from the barely visible window. And the paint.

Re: Ken – sometimes the jokes just write themselves.
I am glad you noticed that little patch of light; I like it lines up with a lighter band of color on the front wall.
