Your processing has transformed a rather ugly building into something really rather special. And the second shot – I just love it.

Thanks, Andy. The white-and-turquoise color scheme of that house caught my eye from a block away, and I had to go take a look. And finding those handbills was the highlight of that particular morning wandering around downtown Austin.

I actually like that house. Sure, it needs a little TLC but I do like the lines. I wonder if this is the back side of the house.
Oh, I love the second photo, too.

It is the front of the house, actually. And I am pretty sure it’s been carved up from a large single-family house into several apartments. I like it’s cobbled together lines – roofs that don’t quite match, window heights that don’t line up, that formidable metal front door.
And that second photo? I laughed out loud when I spotted those posters…..

In the top photo the clear transparent light is Albuquerque alright. I lived there. But the altitude bothered me even though I was young then.

Vera, This house is just a half-block off Central Avenue, between the University and downtown. I used to work just a couple of blocks away, in another old house that had been made over into an office. My drafting table was in what had been a bedroom; my boss worked on the former sun porch.
Albuquerque does have a particular light, doesn’t it? I remember it mostly in the fall, when the leaves on the cottonwood trees along the river would change, giving up a golden glow every evening.

Cool shots, funny pairing. I really like the colors in that first shot.

Thanks, Chris. I’d actually written the post with just the photo of the house when I remembered that other shot, which seemed too good to not use. Glad you like it.

I see rectangles everywhere. Not surprising though. 🙂
