The ghost of what once was

This wall beside a parking lot tells a story about what used to be here, before asphalt rectangles with space numbers painted in yellow were more valuable than buildings.

Speaking of rectangles: kind of a lot of them here, aren’t there?

  1. I love these kinds of images. Makes you imagine what was there and why it is now gone.

Reminds me of a posting of mine a few months ago:

  2. All those bricks carry a meaning of human skills and industry now abandoned, at least on this side of the building. For me it is the embroidery of bricks that ‘makes’ this image.

  4. I am enamored of ghost buildings myself, and this may be my all-time favorite. I like how you took the photo straight on rather than at an angle. There are so many ghosts here, and so much detail! Besides the composition, I also love the variety of tones.
