Here it would be either a Duncan Donuts or Tim Horton’s. We like our dough fried, please.
Iloive the “busy-ness” of this. Lots of detail.

Thanks, Ken. My friend Carlos and I used to have Photography Weekends, where we’d just wander back roads to see what we could find; this was from one of those weekends.

Thanks for noticing that, David. I was shooting with a friend that day, and we both felt like that silhouette was watching us…

Great photo! I live in McKinney and drive the back roads just North of us. There are still a few old buildings that look like this but sadly, not too many will be left in the years ahead. I love growth but it sure its sad to see something like this.

Back when I took this, I wasn’t very good at keeping track of where I was, but this probably was taken somewhere near McKinney.
Thanks for stopping by the blog, and for posting a comment!

Nor to mend no window pane
Ain’t gonna need this house no longer

Grand old Negro Spiritual, I’m reminded of the words thanks to Lignum Draco. I spotted the silhouette too in the window. Loads of character here, Melinda. Now, I’ll be humming that tune all afternoon while I paint those window panes of this old house.

Thanks, Andy. I took this a while back, before I had any idea of what I was doing. I’d like to be able to re-shoot it, but since I don’t have any idea of where, exactly, I was and because of the creeping urbanization, that’s not very likely to happen….

Thanks – I find a great deal of beauty in places like this. You already knew that about me, I suspect, since you see what sorts of photos I usually post!
