Olive

111214

I’ve written previously about the sacred place El Santuario de Chimayó; the chain link fence along the walkway between the parking lot and the church has hundreds of small crosses on it.

Sometimes a detail captures the overall feeling of a place better than a wide shot; this was one of those times. Olive’s cross stands in for all of them.

The caterpillar’s altar

That branch and the grasses an the leaves and the look of having been placed deliberately on that hollow tree stump; I want to think that caterpillar had something to do with it….

Water fountain reflections

The water fountain on the Plaza in Santa Fe had a nice reflection of the shops across the street.

Elephant Woman

I felt weird enough just taking a picture of this huge banner at the carnival; I sure didn’t feel like going inside…

Although I might have been interested in finding the person responsible for the random apostrophes on Olga’s banner.

It looks like the most prolific crop on this farm is that pump jack down there on the horizon.
