The opposite fence

122114

This solitary iron knob is the opposite of these fences, even though they are cemetery neighbors.

Finished

122014

Someone used a giant trowel to apply the finish coat to this wall!

You can see it for yourself, the next time you’re in Eden. Eden, Texas, I mean. It’s in the alley right behind Venison World which is a good spot to get some elk or venison jerky. If you’re into that sort of thing.

Deepening shadows

121914

This building is under renovation – one of these days, it’ll be office space for Hockley County.

I happen to know the architect* for the project, and was able to get a tour one afternoon. Of course, the tour wasn’t planned in advance or anything like that**, so the only camera I had with me was the one on my phone. Which is better than no camera at all, of course. And the phone did a great job of capturing the way the shadows deepened in waves across that far wall.

* Because I’m married to him.
** Even though I am licensed planner! (Don’t tell the American Institute of Certified Planners – I’d hate for them to revoke my license!)

Screened

121814

The window screens on this building are raveling away in a very nice fashion.

Rock corral

121714

The same misty morning that gave me yesterday’s shot let me get a view of the canyon where the mist obscured the far edges, blending the escarpment into the sky.

The previous owner’s rock corral (My term, not his. As far as I know.) in the foreground looks the way it always looks, only a little more damp this time.
