Lack of privacy

Not a great deal of privacy in this restroom, is there?

Guardians

Although the school in McAdoo has been closed for thirty years, the buildings are still there. The entrance to this one is carefully guarded by two weeds. I did not go further – they were good at their job.

The harvest and the late light

071015

Our friends own Ask Harvesting, and we happened to be in the area where they were cutting wheat so we stopped to watch for a few minutes. And, of course, you know what I did while we watched…

(You can read more about custom harvesting, if you’re interested.)

Venus, Jupiter, and the ruins

070915

We took a one-night trip to Matador, just to get out of town for a minute, and to check out a local bed-and-breakfast. (It’d been that kind of a week.) After the sun was down, I walked around town making photos, including this one of Venus and Jupiter in the sky above a burned-out building.

The next morning at breakfast, all the overnight guests were interviewed by one of the innkeepers; the information was going in the newspaper. No secrets in Matador, I guess! She also told us that, if we wanted to visit the museum, she’d just call Arlis and get the key. The inn was very nice, and I’d go back. I wonder if I’d be interviewed again?

PS – In my interview, I did not mention that I was a photographer; judging on how many cars had driven by when I was out the night before, that seemed to be redundant information.

The light in the top-floor room

When I made this image, I thought the story was the sign for the Hotel Rosslyn. But I’ve come to think I was wrong, and that the story is actually that one room with the light on…

PS – After I looked up Hotel Rosslyn and read the reviews (Actual sentence: The lobby is still behind a bulletproof glass and you have to leave your id to visit someone upstairs.), there’s a chance my first impression about the story location was correct.
