The Night Parade

011117

This was one of those things you can do once, and then you don’t ever have to do it again – the annual holiday parade-with-boats at the River Walk. There were approximately one billion people packed in the walkways (I don’t like crowds) and all of us were worried that someone was going to fall in the river (the bets were on the two-year-old in the group.) (No one fell in.)

But it was pretty enough.

And look – I ended up with a color image. Which just goes to show you how the entire experience impacted me.

Drainage System

So, there I was on the grounds of a nice resort. And I was taking photos of downspouts and drains. That sounds about right, doesn’t it?

Ácenar, mezzanine

Are you going to San Antonio? Will you be hungry while you’re there? If so, then you need to check out this place, Ácenar HotMex | CoolBar. It’s got seating that overlooks the famous River walk, but there’s inside seating, too, if the weather’s bad or whatever.

Also, they’ve got the most delicious salsa in the entire world. It’s got a nice smokiness to it. The waitstaff knows how good it is, too: they leave a carafe of it at the table.

Water Park (off season)

It was a cool day, so the inner tubes at the water park were patron-less.

Indeed, it was a proud tradition

Yes, it was a proud tradition. A proud tradition of…something. But, to be honest, I probably wouldn’t have known that without the helpful sign.
