There was a plaque by the statue and I tried to find out about who those people were. The only thing I could tell is that the man is an attorney in New Orleans. Nothing about his love of fishing, that (presumed) grandchild, or anything. But that means we can fill in the rest however we want…

Maybe not knowing more makes the statue all that much more universal.
