to be Cuban
Among many other things, being Cuban means to be prepared to wait in line. We often saw lines like this, and never quite knew what the people were standing in line for. At one line, one of our guides reported that the people were waiting for chicken, but that wasn’t even helpful. Did he mean live chickens? Or whole chickens? Or leftover chicken from a restaurant? Or was it a mis-translation?
(That’s just one of the things I encountered in Cuba that I don’t really understand.)

remind me the life in USSR. People stand in lines without to know what is waiting them in the end. Not to stand is to miss something important.
