Pasticcini
Really? How would you ever decide?
(I couldn’t, so I had gelato instead.)

Back Corner
I once had a bad experience at a grocery store that we can just call “Whole Foods”* – I got in trouble for taking photos, which I thought was a joke at first but which as it turned out was most certainly NOT a joke. Those “Whole Foods” people aren’t fooling around.
But here at Eataly, no one care that I was taking pictures of, well, everything. Even shopping baskets stacked up in the hallway to the restroom.

Table near the kitchen
I understand that maybe some people would object to being seated near the kitchen.
But those people would miss the chance to fill up the evening with stealth-shooting the kitchen door and the way the light ebbed and flowed and the staff moved in practiced fashion.

Patron of the arts
My once-concrete rule to never photograph people seems to be on shaky ground…
I spotted this woman in a photography gallery at the Art Institute and took what I thought was a test shot, to set up the one that I really wanted, on another wall of the gallery. But then her friend showed up, and they left before she made it that far.
But I tried.

Underside of a starfish
Now that I’ve had time to think about it, maybe I violated the personal space of this starfish….
