Alleyway Art Gallery
Now, you might have the impression that Levelland, Texas, is without art. In fact, it is known as the City of Mosiacs* and the local artists seem to be branching out a bit, into these nice alley-based pieces. I am lucky because this art is on the way into my office, so I get to see it regularly.

Wastebaskets
I walked by this window several times each day I was in Phoenix; it’s in a part of the convention center that didn’t seem to be in use. One day, I did what I’d wanted to do since my first sight of it: stick my camera lens right there on the (dirty) glass and make a photo.
For a room that doesn’t appear to be in use, there are a lot of wastebaskets, aren’t there?

Elevator Lobby
I stayed in a new hotel on my recent trip to Phoenix. That is, the hotel was new. The building was a fantastic Art Deco place that must have been a bank at some point in its past. The main lobby and this elevator lobby were luxurious, and I enjoyed seeing all the architectural details up close.

Giant Steps
Something weird is going on.
You might remember back in the old days* when I never included people in my shots.
While I was waiting on the light rail, I glanced around to see what I could find to photograph. The sun through the shade fabric made a nice silhouette of those two shoes, so I was content.
I made this shot twice; the first time with my usual no-people composition. Then this guy walked into the shot. I made the picture. And then – this is where it starts to get weird – I actually liked it better than the first image.
I hope I am going to be OK.
