Call Brady

112913

My mom listened to KFYO radio every day. (Even the noon farm report, for some reason.)

I can remember the radio commercials that this plumbing company ran, with their “Lady, call Brady” tagline. I am guessing that from the looks of the place these days, any lady who DID call Brady would probably not get an answer…

The off season is very long

In Lubbock County, fireworks may only be sold from June 24 through July 4 and December 20 through January 1. And, then, in especially dry years, the county commissioners may implement a ban on any fireworks sales.

So, for 25 days per year, this place is open. The rest of the time, it just squats beside the road, hoping, maybe for rain.

I don’t know what it is, but it is nearby

Yes. It’s right here. Somewhere. Maybe behind a fence post. Or under that tree over there on the left. Or hidden in the weeds along the dirt road. Anyway, it’s close. The sign says so.
