Nature usually wins in the end…

I once submitted a poem called “Deserts Always Win” to a poetry journal; it was rejected, and the editor informed that my premise of deserts always winning was, in fact, wrong. S/he clearly had never observed a desert for very long.

Looks like the for sale sign might have given up in frustration and when to find another place to hang.

I think it said, “I’m outta here,” and relocated itself to Idalou! maybe!,or Lorenzo

I think Idalou. Not sure why. Just a better place for For Sale signs. More collegial.

I was just in Idalou (I am writing from the car – the passenger seat) and should have looked around. I’ll try to remember on the return trip. (Also about to lose service, so I’ll catch up later this evening…)

Have a nice day then! I have to tend to the turkey now, and other baking things.

We made it to Fort Worth in record time. If the record I am referring to was the one for slowest travel ever. It was my fault – as it turns out, there was an amazing abandoned gas station in one of the towns along the way that required a rather long stop while I thoroughly documented its state of decay.
How was the turkey? And the other baking things? And the little one’s first Christmas?

All those things were wonderful. It was a free range turkey gifted to us, and was excellent. The other baking things were great, especially the chestnut and brussel sprouts pie (I know, but believe me it is very tasty). And the little one was the life of the party and not at all cranky the whole time. They just left, so that was great stamina on her part.
