Underneath the lights
You know how I always like to go around back when I am shooting, just to see what I can find? I also try to remember to look up. Which is how I found this interesting array of lightbulbs hiding (in plain sight!) under the marquee of the Mesa Theatre in Clovis, New Mexico.
I wasn’t able to find anything much out about the Mesa, other than it had a fire in 1948 and was rebuilt. Perhaps my Research Department can take over from here?

I like the grittiness of this. A manmade sky…

“Man made sky” is an excellent description – I sort of wish I’d thought of it…

Thanks – and the lights reminded me of a pacifier, too!

I like the grittiness, too. Are these blacklights?

No, I don’t think so. They are on the underside of the porch (I guess you’d call it) of the theater. However, I realize that it was a complete oversight on my part to not find that out on my visit to Clovis, and I should take immediate steps to remedy the error, but returning to Clovis and waiting until the lights are lit to see what they are. Please stand by for updates…..

Maybe because I have been spending time with my brand-new granddaughter, but these lights looked like pacifiers and/or nipples to me….

That was exactly my thought too. It is- the granddaughter effect for sure. And congrats on being a grandmother all over again (is that how it works?).

Thanks. It still sounds funny to say I have granddaughters, but I’m getting used to it.
