Beauty Shop
All the ladies with their standing Saturday appointments were fixed up for the week, and the beauty shop was silent.
I am increasingly drawn toward scenes like this, without people but with ample examples of their humble presence. I love seeing leggy houseplants, wallpaper borders, those big old-fashioned hair dryers, the messy stacks of magazines – all evidence of lives being lived.

Scenic, officially
Sort of makes you wonder, doesn’t it, if the person in charge of sign placement really intended for this abandoned gas station to be the backdrop for a sign proclaiming the town as Officially Scenic.
Or, maybe “scenic” refers to the marker itself, rather than the town…

There was some more weather
This was taken about 40 minutes after this storm photograph, and is of a completely different storm. It was a good evening to be looking at the weather: there was a lot of it to see.
