Across the road from yesterday’s image, I found a gas station that’s been out of business for a while.
Those elm trees are tenacious: they’ve been on their own for a while now, through a long drought or two, and still they hang on, with new branches growing through the dead stuff.

I like it when the old folks say “ellum” instead of “elm.”
I’m going to have to start saying “ellum” before too much longer, since I’m practically an Old.
Also, auto-correct and I are fighting about “vellum” which it just INSISTS should be “vellum.” (I was sure hoping it would change “vellum” to “ellum.”)
