I like these kinds of scenes – there’s something about the normalness of it all, I think, that appeals to me.

I appreciate that a photographer like you – who I admire – leaves the lines in like this. I’ve heard so many just remove them. I always wonder – but where are the birds going to sit?

I actually almost never take out things like power lines – I try to stay true to the documentary photography tradition of including what’s there! In this case, I liked how they framed the top part of the image,
