Dashboard Palette

A beat-up truck in front of an art gallery was itself a piece of art, with that canvas thick with paint on the dashboard. And then, as I stood there, the back window turned itself into a picture frame. (That votive candle in the snow on the hood brought a little bit to the scene, as well.)

The Thaw Before the Storm

011216

The snow was melting on Christmas afternoon and on our walk along Canyon Road, we picked our way between puddles and icy patches of snow, trying to keep on the dry pavement.

The weather was changing, though. In fact, we left a day earlier than planned to beat the storm, and we barely made it: new snow was already falling when we left.

Art Truck

An excellent truck, parked outside a gallery on Canyon Road, caught my eye. And sparked a memory of a song, from the fabulous Terry Allen.

Also, later, I saw a small oil painting on the dashboard of the truck, which really did make it an art truck.

In my mind

In my mind, this is how all of New Mexico looks – soft brown adobe wall, turquoise fence, white window frame.

My mind is very confused, but you probably knew that already…
