Giant Steps

042416

Something weird is going on.

You might remember back in the old days* when I never included people in my shots.

While I was waiting on the light rail, I glanced around to see what I could find to photograph. The sun through the shade fabric made a nice silhouette of those two shoes, so I was content.

I made this shot twice; the first time with my usual no-people composition. Then this guy walked into the shot. I made the picture. And then – this is where it starts to get weird – I actually liked it better than the first image.

I hope I am going to be OK.

Double discount may be in effect

I am pretty sure that if you see the word “discount” twice, that discount is doubled.

(On a side note, the people in that convertible were dancing* to this song It added quite a bit to the ambience of the scene, really.)

Sentinels

These guys kept a good watch out on the corner of Central and East Monroe, in downtown Phoenix. Day or night – there they were.

Off-street parking, and a street

042116

You don’t usually have to wait very long before I post a photo of (or, sometimes, in) a parking garage. I have a weird fascination with them, which predates last year’s escapade with the Rude Canadian.

But it is very likely that every single parking garage image since then has been a bit of a photographic middle finger for that guy!

A change of focus, sort of

042016

In the sense that I was walking around on random streets, making pictures of whatever caught my eye, I was a street photographer…
