one in a crowd

That face. That face (and the man attached to it) was all I saw in a huge crowd of people heading toward the Cathedral. His life’s story is right there for everyone to see.

thin man

This guy is quite svelte, isn’t he?

Also, he’s modeling the traditional outfit that devotees – of all ages and sizes (s0, not just skinny dudes) –  wear during the feast day celebrations for Catania’s patron saint Agata. (Sant’Agata is also remembered for being the protector of women with breast diseases, bell smelters and firefighters.)

seasonal color

A cloudy day made the oranges pop. I mean the literal ones on the trees and the plastic traffic barriers.

Also, how cool would it be to live where you could be just strolling around your neighborhood and have a fresh-off-the-tree snack?

deflated

This is what’s fun about walking around: how else would you possibly spot a sad, orange basketball against a mossy green wall?

magic mirrors

Honestly, this is one of my favorite photos. My friends and I were wandering around Palermo and happened to turn down a shaded street which had mirrors for sale. Of course we stopped to photograph them and I was lucky enough to get this shot, which both included and didn’t include a passing pedestrian. Getting the chance to get just this one photo would have made the trip worthwhile. (My needs are simple. Sometimes.)
