after-hours bar

There was something about that fruit, left over from the night before, that called to me. And then, when I saw that red towel, I was unable to resist making a photo. (Although, if I am being honest, I would have made it without the towel.)

the town with no perspective

This place (apparently) has lost all perspective.

I’ll wait here until you notice why.

afternoons with Beyoncé

I know for sure my brain doesn’t work in a normal way.

For example, I decided to completely misunderstand this sign because it was funnier* to think that it is Jay Z’s side hustle and that he closed the place down right after lunch every day so he could get home to Beyoncé. In fact, it was so funny** that I made a series of u-turns to get back to get the photo.

Oh, just playing around with my camera while the home team lost the game. What did you do the other night?

free kick, and a score

My younger granddaughter is a soccer player; she’s 10 and has played with the same team since she was four. It’s been a lot of fun to watch them transform from a clump of tiny players who didn’t know what they were doing (and who sometimes needed the coach to hold their hand while they were on the field) to a team that consistently wins and is usually the top finisher in their league and whose coach will always ask them – win or lose – “Who’s having fun?”

All that’s why we found ourselves taking her to a professional soccer game the other night. The local team lost, but still it was fun to watch the game and try my hand at sports photography. I’m not planning on making that a full-time deal, but I did like this shot of the other team scoring on a free kick.
