Now, you might think there’s no reason to bother going to Hagerman, New Mexico, but I am here to tell you that if you decide against going there, then you’ll miss this fan in the furthest west window of the First Presbyterian Church. (You’ll also maybe miss a worried-looking woman asking you if you know where Tawny is…apparently there was supposed to be a wedding? I didn’t stick around to see what happened, but maybe I ought to have.)

cowboy country

We went out of our way (but not by much) because we’d heard about the deliciousness that is the Steak House. The food was worth the additional 26 miles of driving, but really, those cowboys with their spurs and all were the best part of the stop.
