Off Season

For the same kinds of reasons (which I don’t fully understand) that I prefer to look at the backs of buildings or at things that are falling apart, I was happy to visit the beach in the winter, when there weren’t many people about and the lifeguard stations were pushed together to keep each other company until spring.

Cold Air

The thing is that I hate cold weather.

But the other thing is that even though I hate cold weather, I can’t completely avoid going outside. And when I do, and when I get to see things like this at the nearby gas station, I hate the cold a little less.

Crops creeping ever closer

As I stood in the stubbled field to get this shot, I had the feeling that with each growing season, the crops got a little closer to this building, and that one day, it would be all crop and no building.
