My (current) favorite town
Here’s another shot of this building.
It’s also the same place where I found some rectangles, a slightly disturbing sign, #4 in the White on White series, and a steam laundry.

I took almost 200 pictures there in less than 2 hours – I need to get back down there and see what else I can find, as I only covered about 4 or 5 blocks. And didn’t go to the cemetery at all.

Aren’t these old deserted buildings fascinating? Sometimes very eerie as well, which this one sort of appears here. How did you feel when you were inside?

I didn’t go inside – the windows were all broken out and I was able to shoot from the sidewalk. But even so, it felt a little creepy, and there were a couple of pigeons that startled me. Old cotton gins are the creepiest places to me; they usually have about a million pigeons (rough estimate; could be a little inflated), and since the wind’s nearly always blowing there are lots of noises from loose metal siding and things.

Wonderful stains on the walls and ceiling! I like how the ceiling tiles almost look like mirrors, or glass.

They were those old-fashioned acoustical tiles – the ones with all the little holes in them.
That stain on the wall is actually what first caught my eye.
