First of all – this trip wasn’t supposed to have been a road trip. The original plan, however, was thwarted by the impending arrival of Hurricane Harvey (no relation), so instead of a more complicated trip that included flights in and out of Austin, we opted to skip Austin entirely and drive to Colorado.*
Second – we were in my Patient Spouse’s vehicle, and he was driving.
Third – I get really fidgety when I’m in the car for long periods. (In my case, “long periods” is anything more than about an hour.)
Fourth – this is what fidgety looks like.
Fifth – aren’t you glad you don’t have to travel with me?!

*Yes, Austin isn’t typically on the route that normal people take from Lubbock to Colorado. We had events in both places on concurrent days. Also, we’ve never really been accused of being “normal.”
