From Apple Street

A sign on the main highway, that we’d passed by hundreds of times, is what led us (eventually)(finally) to House, New Mexico. For some reason, we’d never seen the benefit of taking a brief detour for no other reason than to see what was there. And obviously, this place isn’t for everyone, but I liked the view from the eastern-most street, looking south.

Fun Fact: when I was a kid, the highway sign pointing the way to House also pointed at an actual house. It was a source of great amusement to my mom, who’d be sad if she knew the house was gone. (And House is nearly gone, too, as far as that goes: the official population in 2017 was 63.)

The B&W is so dramatic. The 2nd shot will help me to get to House if I’m ever in the vicinity.
