….but there looks to be a lift?

Yes, but I never figured out how to, you know, USE it. Maybe if I spoke French…

Ah, come on, Melinda, a lift is a lift……unless you were in a hotel in Cuba over a decade ago, where the lift had to be crash-landed at each floor by the lift attendant…. that was fun!

Cuba! I’ve almost made it to Cuba two times (one time would have been with another photographer, which would have been so much fun!), but both times the trips fell through. I am jealous, even with the crash-landing elevators..>!

Ah, I hope you get to go one day….I would love to return, but my health isn’t really up to it….it’s a long way!

It IS a long way from where you are, and I am sorry that you’re not up for the trip.

I see that it is a descent lift. Aren’t they decent enough to supply an ascent lift? However, getting there must’ve made you feel triomphent.

Your spelling made me laugh right out loud.
I was under the impression that there was, in fact, an ascent lift. I never saw one, and we were swiftly herded to the stairs (metal, spiral). I was only a few months out from a knee replacement; climbing up those steps was not my favorite part of Paris. My knee didn’t care for it, either.

At least you and your knee are on the same page.

Yes, we are. It took a while though, as my physical therapist can attest!

I do not envy you.

Yeah. It wasn’t all that much fun. My physical therapist was awesome (he’s a complete wiseass so you can imagine that we got along well) and I got a really sweet tattoo on top of the scar. Those are the main good things. Oh, and I can, you know, walk and stuff now.

I suppose the area looked fancy when it was new. I suppose the danger triangle is a fairly new addition. I suppose we shall see more of this iconic structure tomorrow.

To reply to your suppositions: Yes, probably. Yes, probably. Not necessarily.
