Mirror
While I am not necessarily admitting to anything, the reason there are no people in the picture (other than the fact that it’s a photo that I took) is that they were all attending conference sessions, like obedient little convention attendees.

Nice ‘package’ of picture and words, Melinda.

Thanks, Frank. I just noticed that over the past few months, I’ve posted three pictures with mirrors, and in each case, the mirror was on the far right-hand side of the photo. Maybe this weekend I can work on getting one on the left…

The mirror is there to help convention truant officers find conference session renegades like you.

Years of practice taking an unconventional approach to conventions.

The only approach I am interested in taking with conventions is an unconventional one.
This one is the annual urban-planning conference, where I have to attend sessions to get my continuing ed requirements. None of the sessions have any bearing on my real job, so I try to think of a theme to follow to select sessions to attend. One year, I found a meeting room that had a window ( ! ) so I just went to every session in that room. Another time, I selected sessions where the presenters were from other countries, so I could listen to the various accents. Then last year, of course, I attended those “offsite sessions” on the Point Reyes peninsula and got a sandwich from the best deli on the west coast.

That’s the best approach. Next time you’re out this way let’s go out on a shoot together. I’ll scout some sites for dilapidated things.

That’s a deal. And same, for the next time you come to Lubbock!
