Undraped
Those pinch-pleated drapes were surely hung with pride, the fabric and color selection carefully considered. And then it all came down to this, a typical situation in typical times, to paraphrase the Dave Matthews Band.

I wonder if they mourned the situation or if they just simply moved on.

My guess is that they moved on. I think this building was the town’s hospital and was abandoned when the new hospital opened, out on the highway bypass. I have a hard time imagining a hospital lobby with pinch-pleated drapes, but then again, I have a hard time imagining anything with PPDs.
