As appealing as this place seems when you drive by, and as much as you’re likely to start thinking about a vacation to Vega so you can stay here for a while, the fact is that the Vega Motel is closed.

Hello Melinda. Dale Michaud here. I’m sure we worked on a project together at A&M our junior year. a vet clinic in Austin. Came across your site back in November by accident and after reading a few of your comments I put two and two together. Ive followed some of your photo journey. Dale!! What a great surprise to hear from you – and yes! We did work on that vet clinic project together way back in the day. Thanks for reaching out and for following along with this stuff I’m doing now.
As it turns out, taking that required photography class at A&M set me on a path to where am I now, although I did take quite a circuitous route to get here.

I remember you being from Lubbock, correct? Still there? My wife and I will be passing through next week on our way from Maine to Big Bend. If you want to catch a lunch or coffee let me know. As for me I did not become an architect but to several professors chagrin, a contractor. The degree however served me well in working with architects on commercial projects. Especially design-build.

Maine to Big Bend is quite a drive! And it would be fun to see you again and to meet your wife. I am still working, but my job is extremely flexible so any day/time would work out. (Also, I married one of our fellow architecture students, Larry Harvey, so we can have quite the reunion.)
