If you go to the Hass Moto Museum and ask the guy at the entrance if you can take photos inside, he’ll say, “Sure!” So that’s great.

And I am sort of convinced that it only seemed like the security guard was following me the whole time I was there. But I didn’t even care, because I was too busy getting myself lined up to photograph stuff like this.

circle of leaf: a cemetery diptych

The thickness of cemetery greenery gave way to some oddities, including an odd clearing with a pile of white animal bones and a circle of leaves making a protective crown around a cross-embossed headstone.

It looms above West Davis Street, in all its broken-plastic glory, calling to saints or sinners or anyone who will listen.

And, it also calls to photographers who may not so much as listen as make the image and then move on.
