dizzy
My brain does not like to see things that spin around. Seeing the motion makes it go all mushy on the inside (oddly, the exact feeling that calculus gave me that one awful semester in college).
Even standing on the ground trying to get a photo of the twirl-around ride* made me a little dizzy.

Carnival Season
We were somehow unaware that our visit to Crowley coincided with the annual International Rice Festival. but that’s what happens when you fail to fully research the places you plan to visit, or don’t even know for sure where you’re going until you get there. So, there in Crowley, the main street was blocked for the festival so we picked our through town and ended up seeing what I guess was the back of the midway. It was an unexpectedly nice view.
Sadly, our schedule didn’t leave time for a visit, which is a shame – it looks like we missed a pretty good time. And we’ll never know who was crowned this year’s Chef de Riz.

Carnival, 1
Remember that thing I said yesterday, about how color would be shocking?
So, yeah. This.
It’s a big deal when the fair’s in town. I don’t mind going, as long as I can find some delicious roasted corn. And can make a few photos. This is what happens when I decide to shoot a little of series of shots of this bungee-cord ride.
