Hard Times

I think we can all think of an Internet-based reason why a roadside adult video store may have fallen on hard times.

This place is on my regular route to work and over the past few weeks I’ve been watching the sign’s decline. The panel that says “video” is barely hanging on, the whole thing rotates around when the wind’s just right, and one of these days (tomorrow, maybe) the whole thing will fall apart.

Dead end, probably

If you’re like me, you’re probably wishing that those smokestacks lined up exactly over ALL of the trash dumpsters, instead of just two of them…

None of the streets here go anywhere in particular – the one between the building and dumpsters ends at some railroad tracks a block away, and the other one abuts a freeway. But that’s OK – development (or developers) hasn’t located this part of town…

Oh, hello there

This guy. Instead of waiting until I made the shot (but, to be fair, who makes photos of the carts outside the Home Depot?), he tried to photobomb. His mostly-unsuccessful attempt makes this image nicely goofy, I think.

It’s outdoor furniture season

A couple of years ago, a windstorm with gusts around 100 mph (no kidding!) damaged some furniture we had out at our place in the country. We* tried to fix the broken pieces, but finally abandoned that plan. As a result we were shopping for new furniture. I, of course, was more interested in photography than chairs…
