Accoutrement

The older, smaller church had been transformed into the church hall. The resourceful church members kept all the old trappings in the apse of the church hall, because I guess you just never know when a spare communion chalice will come in handy. And, to be on the safe side, all the accoutrements are locked behind a gate. Fortunately for itinerate photographers, the gate’s grate is large enough to accommodate a camera lens.

Window Treatment

The windows at this church were covered with heavy screens, which had an interesting moire pattern from the inside.

And look, there to the right of the window, where something used to hang on the wall. Only the nail and a lighter-than-the-wall rectangle remain.

no need for sheet music

What can I say? The reflections reminded me of sheet music…

under the stairs

I was so fond of this scene, under the stairs to the loft, that I photographed it about five times, from different angles and with different cameras. The light was magical.

to light the way

Sometimes, the beauty is in the details. More often, though, I find it in the mundane.
