Out on the edge of town you can find a giant homage to the iconic movie “Giant.” Don’t worry about getting directions: just keep going west until you see it.

The late sun made the roof tile and sky glow. Throw in a few clouds and a little strip of flashing and you’ve got a photo just waiting to be made.

The town of Valentine, Texas, has a population of 73*, a library**, two cemeteries, a world-famous art installation***, and this open-air gym.

**You can text the librarian if you want in, and they will “come right over”, according to the sign taped to the door. Also, they don’t reply to texts from unknown numbers.
