Tower Drug, and car racing
Another view of Uhland, just steps away from where I found this trailer.
I am sort of digging Uhland. For one thing, the place was named for a poet.
And also because of the last sentence of the town’s history, offered simply, without detail: Club 21 was burned down due to a car racing accident in 2012.

It’s the usual story: the family farmhouse got left behind when the family moved to town. And so it sits….
But at least, in this case, the family stops in from time to time. And sometimes bring their camera-wielding friend along.

An alley. Again. Of course.
It’s been a long time since I posted a shot from an alley.
If you think between May 9 and May 15 qualifies as “a long time.”
But, anyway, here’s an alley in the Loop, in Chicago. As alleys go, this is quite tidy.

Yep, I am that person, the one taking pictures at the airport.
But here’s the thing: we weren’t familiar with the airport so planned for plenty of time to check bags and go through security. There wasn’t a line to check bags. There wasn’t a line at security. That left a lot of time before our flight left. And I had to do something besides listen to the women on the next row of chairs talk about hair color and highlights and lowlights and….well, that’s when I picked up the camera and walked away.

Taco dinner (last chance, for a while)
If you were thinking that the perfect dinner tomorrow night would involve tacos, and you’ve got the time to make a quick trip to Manchester, Michigan, head for Madison Street, the last block before the river. It’s all you can eat!
But also: it’s the last taco dinner until September.
