Night Falls

At last, the sun went down, lighting the front of the old church, and bringing deep shadows to the grounds of the fort. It was just me, a few mosquitoes, and (maybe) ghosts.

Font (many blessings)

The interior of the church, with the font first, and murals on the far wall. It was very nice to be the only person in there, and not just from a photographic, will-you-people-get-out-of-my-way situation. It was quiet and calm, and calming (because those are two different things).

There came a heavenly light

This. This is what I came for – to see the inside of an old church (built inside a fort) and to look at the way the light moved around the rough stucco walls.

It was worth the trip.

Letter Box

And here we have another example of my looking inside something, or at least letting my camera look around and capture what was there. In this case, the camera was very kind and captured the World’s Shiniest Floor™ and the World’s Last Letterbox*.

Good work, camera.

(There’s been some talk in the past – and I am looking right at you, Ehpem – that I carry a vat of Photographer’s Floor Shine™ with me on my travels. I can state without reservation that I can neither confirm nor deny those allegations.)

**Maybe.

Malled

Here’s another shot that looks like I was trying to channel my inner MC Escher.
