The Silent Waiting
Sometimes when I look through dusty windows into vacated spaces, it looks like things were left behind. And usually, it looks like the tenants left in a bit of a hurry and maybe left some things that they’ll want later.
There’s something about this scene, though, that makes me feel like the items in the room were just moved in, and are waiting silently for the rest of the stuff to catch up.

The early sun slices across the letters of the old dime store.
Of course, Kress stores have been gone for a while; this is now a restaurant. I’m glad they kept the letters.

Vacancy
I really like peering into vacant buildings to see what sorts of things have been left behind. Usually I see piles of trash, or random things that weren’t important enough to pack up and move someplace else. Seeing an interior that’s mostly clean, and empty, is out of the ordinary.
